"Twigg" Flintlock

"Twigg" Flintlock

Styled after the work of English gunsmith John Twigg, this lock is ideal for late 18th century English style weapons. High quality locks of this type were also sometimes used on American longrifles and fowlers of the 1780-1810 era. Each of these locks is a high quality precision assembly of well designed components. It features such anti-friction devices as a stirrup between the mainspring and tumbler, a roller bearing on the frizzen, and bearing surfaces on the tumbler and sear, all of which contribute to the best ignition speed possible. The inside of the lock plate has been ground to a flat finish, while exterior parts have a fine sandblasted finish to make browning easier. Right hand only.
