French "Fine Fusil" Kit

French "Fine Fusil" Kit

This kit replicates the French "fusil fin" trade guns. Available with both brass and iron mounts, these beautiful weapons were widely traded in the 1730-1760 era throughout America. Examples of this style can be seen in T.M. Hamilton's Colonial Frontier Guns. Many "fusil fin" trade guns were restocked into American fowlers, particularly in New England. Copied directly from an original fusil fin. Our kit is available with brass or iron mounts, in walnut or curly maple, and with breeched octagon to round 48" barrels in 20 gauge. The barrel, buttplate, lock, sideplate, & triggers are 95% inlet, and the ramrod groove and hole are complete. We recommend you purchase a copy of, "The Art of Building the Pennsylvania Rifle", #0637 for $20.00 or "The Gunsmith of Grenville County" by Peter Alexander. We offer some, but not all of these components separately elsewhere in the catalog and web site. This kit comes complete with all components, screws, and pins. Please specify maple or walnut stock. Specify brass or iron mounts. The sterling thumbpiece is not included as the picture shows.
