Fusil Fin Buttplate
This casting exactly replicates the style used on the French "fusil fin" trade guns. Available with both brass and iron mounts, these beautiful weapons were widely traded in the 1730-1760 era throughout America. Examples of this style can be seen in T.M. Hamilton's Colonial Frontier Guns. Many "fusil fin" trade guns were restocked into American fowlers, particularly in New England. Copied from original fusil fin parts in our collection. The decorative engraving common to these guns is cast in.
Dimensions: 4 3/4" high x 2" wide x 5 1/4" top extension.
