Trap Ball

Trap Ball

Trap Ball originated in 18th century England, evolving from several other related bat & ball games, including Cricket and Rounders. Its popularity in America extended well into the middle of the 19th century. The reason for shaping the "trap" into a shoe-like form is unknown. The game can be played with 2 or more players, and as teams or as individuals. Two side boundaries of equal length should be chosen for the field of play. Also to be determined are the order of the strikers, and the score needed to win. An excellent amusement for rendezvous or reenactment. For ages 6 to adult.
